Appointed Life Member on the 21 February 1973.
Jack Pennington was a wonderful man for the Benalla Golf Club, for he joined the Club in 1948, became a Committee Member in 1955 and remained so until 1972.
During this time, he was President from 1958 through 1962. Junior Vice President 1955 & 1963. Senior Vice President 1956 through 1957. Captain 1966.
In that time, he commenced the great 4Ball event named after his farm ‘Ulundi’ and became the ‘Ulundi Cup’.
Jack was President at a critical time in the Club’s history when the grass greens and watered fairways were being developed and he devoted a great deal of time to ensure all went to plan.
Jack participated and enjoyed his golf with his friends until his passing.
