Appointed Life Member on the 9 November 1994.
John Bemrose was first elected to Committee in 1967 through 1968.
After serving again on Committee, John was elected Junior Vice President 1974 through 1976, Senior Vice President 1979 through 1982 before becoming President in 1983 through 1986. After being President, John served as a Committee Member until 1992.
John’s work on course was very good as he paid particular attention to the management of the course and greens. Under his management he created many a new green and removed several bunkers that did not suit the course.
John Bemrose was the sponsor of the ‘Striker’ 4 Ball event that was very popular and successful for the Club.
Since joining the club, John noticed the gradual decline in the condition of the original clubhouse and propose the construction of a new clubhouse on the newly acquired property to the north. The proposal gained approval and many fund-raising dinners were held in the original clubhouse along with other activities to raise the necessary funds for the new clubhouse.
