Appointed Life Member on the 21 March 1944.
Mr Clarke first came onto the Council of the Benalla Golf Club in 1920, as it was then called and served on and off until 1943 when he retired.
Mr Clarke served the Benalla Golf Club with distinction to the highest degree and many volumes will be written in the future of this man’s great work for the Club.
Besides being a worthy administrator, he was also a champion golfer being the first Club Champion and a record holder on other courses in Benalla.
In 1924 and again in 1926, Mr T.T, Clarke was President with all other members of the executive being solicitors also. That is something that you do not see very often in a Club. On the weekend they would do battle on the golf course and come Monday, or when a court was sitting, they would defend their clients but by the next Saturday they would be golfing friends again.
Trevor became the first Club Champion in 1928.
In 1940 through 1943, the Club could not find a President and after 8 people declined, he was enticed to come out of retirement and carry on the Club, which he did until the tide of World War 2 was ending, a truly magnificent effort.
