Appointed Life Member on the 18 November 2003.
Vaughan Cowan has been a member of the Benalla Golf Club since 1953 and has enjoyed being involved in various parts of the club.
He coached junior golfers for 42 years.
Vaughan and with his wife Marion, were seen at the undeveloped driving range most Sunday mornings to provide golf guidance and juniors in particular, but also the any player seeking his guidance. This contribution to the Club occurred for many, many years.
Vaughan’s efforts have been recognised by Golf Australia and he has been named a Country Victorian Volunteer of the year.
The Club installed a modern driving range facility during 2020/21 and has honoured Vaugan’s contribution to the Club, by naming the facility the ‘Vaughan Cowan Driving Range’.
